Volunteer Get Involved as a Volunteer! Make new friends, learn a new skill, use your talents, make a difference by volunteering in your local community! United Way offers many resources that can assist you in finding the right volunteer opportunity. Other opportunities to volunteer: Volunteer for United Way Allocation of Funds - Local volunteers make the decisions about where United Way contributions will be spent. As an allocation volunteer, you help evaluate a variety of community programs to determine the appropriate level of annual support. Local decisions tackle local problems. Allocation volunteers actively participate in evaluating and allocating funds to agency programs that serve individuals, families, and neighborhoods in our 40-town region. Committees - United Way is currently seeking new volunteers for several committees, including: the Marketing Leadership Council, Every Child Succeeds, and Day of Caring Committees. Committee members work with United Way staff to tackle specific projects throughout the year. General - United Way volunteers are also needed to help with mailings, data entry, the Nonprofit Resource and Training Center, and various office functions. To inquire about any of these volunteer opportunities, please call (860) 493-6800 or email mwolf@uwcact.org.
