Jumpstart 2008

Jumpstart 2008, a training program for volunteer United Way Community Campaign coordinators, was conducted at Saint Joseph College in West Hartford on Thursday, June 26. More than 200 representatives from local businesses and organizations attended the day-long training, which covered the key elements of an effective campaign, how to build on a workplace campaign's history to develop a winning strategy, and best campaign practices. Jumpstart participants also visited United Way partner agencies to learn about community conditions and how health and human services improve lives.

Jumpstart 2008 marked the presentation of the 15th annual United Way Community Campaign Courage Award. To read more about the Courage Award, click here.

For those who were unable to attend Jumpstart on June 26th, three Jumpstart Redux sessions were conducted during the month of August in Hartford, New Britain, and Willimantic.
